This Week’s Review: Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner (Lush)

This body conditioner by Lush is beautiful smelling and has a gorgeous silky texture!
Ingredients: argan oil, coca butter, cupuacu butter, brazil nut oil, almond oil and shea butter.
This product, which claims to “feed and nourish” the skin is definitely one of my favourite moisturisers, if not my most favourite, because of its delicious, sweet fragrance and rich conditioning qualities.
I priorities which moisturisers I use on which parts of my body, based on the delicacy of the skin, and the price of the moisturiser. For the majority of my body, I use a fairly cheap, but still very nice moisturiser, because I certainly couldn’t afford to rub Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner over every surface of my skin. For my face I use something different, but this product I use on my chest (because, after the face, the chest/ collar bones are usually the parts of the body which are seen the most frequently and exposed to the most sunlight), so I like to use a high quality moisturiser to keep my skin soft and to slow down the ageing process!
I adore Lush as a brand, because they do not test on animals and use very natural, vegetarian ingredients in all of their products. Sometimes it’s worth that extra expense for such high quality ethical beauty products.

Face: The Basics
This week’s review: MAC Studio Fix Foundation

Since this is the first post of the GlitterBox Beauty Blog, I thought I’d start with the basics; foundation. I’ve tried many different liquid foundations in the past, and MAC Studio Fix foundation is by far the best one I’ve used.
Some of my girlfriends don’t share this opinion, particularly for daytime use, as it is a very heavy foundation, but I aim for completely flawless skin. This foundation spreads easily, has a lovely texture and provides Photoshop coverage.
In the past I’ve tried to match my skin tone, usually assisted by the MAC artist in store, and I’ve purchased NC25, NC20, but I’ve since found that using only one foundation is not the best idea as my skin tone changes so frequently, both seasonally and due to the fact that I wear a fake tanning product on evenings out. So now I buy a foundation that matches my skin tone at its absolute lightest; NC15, and a foundation for when I’m wearing a dark fake tan product; NW35 and I blend the two together in different proportions dependent on my skin tone.
So, most days I’ll apply a lot of NC15 to my foundation brush, and just a drop of NW35, then for a night out I’ll use slightly more NW35 than NC15, and I find this technique works best to ensure that the face always matches the neck and looks appropriate for the season.

This product is SPF15, and keeping UV from contacting the skin is essential for keeping the face looking youthful. On the MAC Cosmetics website the foundation is £20.50 for 30ml. The bottle comes with a screw lid, but a pump can be purchased in store for a few pounds which is very useful.
I have found that this foundation does last quite a long time because it is so thick; however it is the MAC product which I replace most frequently as I use it so often. But remember, when you save up six empty containers of any MAC product you get a free lipstick!
(I have used this offer twice in UK stores; I do not know about MAC offers overseas and am in no way affiliated with MAC Cosmetics.)
